Let’s talk about CONSISTENCY. There’s no other way to reach our goals than regularly choosing habits that take us closer to our destination. There are no magic pills to make you lose weight. There is no 1-time workout that will help you build muscle. You can’t master the snatch by going to a class three times. And you can’t expect to walk on your hands without putting in the work. . On days when you feel good, consistency is easy. You’re working out hard, you’re eating right, you’re being productive, and you’re crushing small steps that are helping you to work your way to your overall long-term goals. . Then there are days when your mind is trying to convince you to skip out on habits that are contributing to your success. This usually happens when you haven’t gotten enough sleep, or you’re stressed at work. How do you keep yourself “automated” with your consistency? . The first thing you should do is to not listen to yourself when you’re trying to talk yourself out of something you should be doing. What you’re listening to is sometimes referred to as your “bitch voice,” and you’re stronger than your bitch voice. . But what happens when you succumb to your mind on those bad days, and in a moment of weakness, make a choice that is going to backpedal your success? . Forgive and move on. Forgive yourself for whatever you chose to do, and then to make the conscious choice to make the necessary steps to get yourself back on track. This doesn’t mean to make excuses like “Well I messed up last night, so I’m going to just keep sabotaging myself and start over on Monday.” No. Start now, get back on track now, and move on. You can’t change the past, so focus on the here and now and how you plan to get yourself to your future goals. . Choosing mental toughness takes self-awareness and discipline. You will succeed sometimes, and other times you will fail, but as long as you pick yourself up and keep moving forward, you are headed in the right direction. With enough practice, being consistent will become easier, and will eventually become a necessary part of your routine. Once you have mastered the art of consistency, success will be waiting for you. ⭐️

These kids had a great weekend I’d say. Their first horse ride (thanks @mama_lynn109 !), a visit from their cousins, some baseball, and a night at the carnival with their friends ? Bring on summer! ☀️

I’m a juicer now, who knew!? ? . Here’s a new favorite of mine that is my go to when I need energy and I need to curb my sweet tooth: . Vanilla Chai Super Meal (2 tbsp) by @puriumhp 3 dates 1 frozen banana 2 tsp Cacao Nibs Ice Water (can be subbed with almond milk) . Still new on the journey but I love all the recipes and ingredients that you’ve been texting and DMing me. Keep them coming and I will happily share!!

I was given an early Mother’s Day treat— a (partial) day to myself— to walk the beach. I really struggled this morning, and I blame lack of sleep and stress. ? . Despite the drive, I was able to walk two hours barefoot on the beach. I needed this— that’s an understatement. ? . Driving to the beach away from my kids, I felt an enormous sense of guilt. How could I choose to take this time when I also could be watching baseball and softball practices and being present with my family? What kind of mother am I who is opting to drive away? . Truth is, I have been home with my kids, mostly 24/7 since the pandemic hit. And despite acknowledging how lucky we have been, it’s been wearing on me. Bad. I’m not even sure if I made the right decision this morning. But there were pockets of time today that I was really grateful, and really trying to take in the very rare moments (for now) that i could walk at my own pace, listen to the waves, and not speak a single word for hours. . Pandemic moms, find your balance. Forgive yourself, and ask for help. Youre doing a great job ❤️
