Standout projects making waves around the web

The archive is an illusion. Every return to the image rewrites the narrative. Хх. Т

“Thanks, No Sugar” My personal social project launched in 2015 to raise awareness about diabetes ???? Some of Russia’s biggest actors took part, and millions of people learned the importance of getting tested. I partnered with clinics in Moscow to offer free blood sugar tests. This project is personal to me—my father fought diabetes, and I wanted to help others take control of their health❤️ Xx. T

«Quite hour» part 2/2 Inside, it was quiet. Some of the children were asleep, some were just lying there, others stared up at the ceiling. A few noticed me — they immediately came over, took my hands, started hugging me. There were many of them, and in that moment I stopped understanding what I was supposed to do. I was a volunteer, but suddenly I was a witness. I was a photographer, but I had become a person the children were drawn to — children who simply needed warmth. I didn’t know how to react. So I began to photograph. These images became one of the hardest experiences of my career. They aren’t about documentation. They’re about helplessness, about loneliness, about the way children search for closeness — any closeness. For a long time, I didn’t show this material. Now I’m sharing it not for shock value, but as a reminder to myself and to others that places like this exist. And that every act of love, every visit, every person who comes with an open heart truly matters. I’m not asking for donations, and I’m not urging any specific action. I just want this post to be a reminder: there are children among us for whom even the smallest gesture of warmth can feel like a window into another world. And if we can, let’s open those windows for them more often.

“Quiet hour” 1/2 I split this material on 2 parts, read the next one as well. In the mid-2010s, I was a volunteer with a charity foundation. We traveled to the Urals, to a residential institution for children with developmental disabilities. Our goal was simple and important — to give the kids a celebration. We decorated the assembly hall with balloons, prepared a small performance, and brought everyday essentials they needed. While the children were having their quiet hour and everything in the hall was being set up, I suddenly felt a strange, almost physical pull toward the corridor… as if something was guiding me. I stepped out of the hall and found myself standing in front of the doors to the living quarters. I wasn’t supposed to go inside. I didn’t have permission. But I took a step in.

My Dear Natasha❤️, You’re such a precious person in my life. We’ve shared many experiences together, from the dramatic events in Krymsk during the flood, where you tirelessly helped children in need, to the joyful celebration of the 20th anniversary of your Naked Heart Foundation @nakedheartfoundation , dedicated to supporting children as well. Everything that involves you is intertwined with success, kindness, and love. Thank you so much, my Muse! @natasupernova Wishing you a fabulous birthday filled with all the joy you bring to others! Your friend, Timka????

This isn’t a “diary,” but a layer — without obligations, without form, like stones in a river.

I was born and raised in the Russian Arctic, among nomadic Indigenous peoples. For me, climate change is not abstract — it is personal memory. Today the permafrost melts. Land collapses, rivers change their path, ancient worlds emerge from the ground. The Nenets, Khanty and other northern communities lose migration routes, reindeer pastures, and the ground their culture stands on. In my work I document this moment — the birth of reindeer calves in melting snow, disappearing landscapes, rituals, and silence of the tundra. Climate change is not a future story. It is happening now. Together with @cop30nobrasil , I stand for attention, responsibility and care for the land and people who live with it. *The third photograph shows a Nenets reindeer herder, Leonid Yaptik. #UnitedArtistsForClimate @cop30nobrasil @unitedartistsforclimate @artofchange21 @labverde
