Standout projects making waves around the web

Afternoon storm clouds rolling through a rural Idaho town. ????️ #MadeWithKodak The light was too good not to pull over. Exposed some film on my way to Nevada. Grateful for moments like these. 120 Kodak Portra400 // Pentax 67ii #120Film #MediumFormat #Portra400 #Pentax67ii

First time in Wyoming surely did not disappoint ????️#MadeWithKodak I can't help but think fondly of my time in the Tetons. My only worries were running into Grizzly bears while shooting sunrise to sunset and eating all the huckleberry foods I could get my hands on. I look forward to getting back out there again sometime. 4x5 Kodak Ektar100 // Chamonix 45f-2 @kodak @kodakprofessional @grandtetonnps @chamonixviewcamera #4x5Film #GrandTetonNationalPark #FilmPhotography #Kodak

Sunrise in West Thumb Geyser Basin, Yellowstone ????️ #MadeWithKodak I was lucky enough to catch this beautiful sunrise in Yellowstone National Park. I had the whole area to myself aside from a few Elk that were roaming around. Shortly after this, I was heading toward Ol’ Faithful when I unexpectedly ran into @mizewayne on his way to work. I can’t help but smile thinking about the odds of us running into each other and what a glorious couple of days I had being in Yellowstone. 4x5 Kodak Ektar100 // Chamonix 45f-2 #4x5Film #Kodak #Ektar100 #YellowstoneNationalPark

A late Spring afternoon in the San Juan Mountains ????️ #MadeWithKodak In June, I had the opportunity to explore one of my brothers favorite areas in Colorado, the San Juan Mountains. I wasn’t medically cleared to fly after my back surgery and decided a road trip to see him was much needed after not seeing eachother in 5 years. He was so excited that I was going to be passing through the San Juans and it made me so happy to have him tell me about all of the cool places I had to check out along the way. I remember being there and thinking how special it felt to be exploring an area he loved so dearly… now that he has passed the photographs I made mean even more to me. He was big on modifying @toyotausa trucks and took them up some incredible trails that were not for the faint of heart and only capable vehicles and drivers could make it up. Bailey encouraged me to share more of my work online - stating that it was a great way for people to experience beautiful places they may never get to visit. I look forward to one day buying a truck and modifying it the way he would be proud of, photographing & showing people the incredible areas he cherished. I hope you’re seeing this one and it puts a big smile on your face brother. ❤️ 4x5 Kodak Ektar100 // Chamonix 45f-2 #RIPBailey #fuckcancer #Colorado #Kodak

Bluebird morning after the storm. ❄️ @yosemitenps @yosemiteconservancy A couple of quick clips during yesterday's park closure. I couldn't resist recording a little bit of video as I headed into work. #Yosemite #YosemiteNationalPark #Winter #WinterStorm #Video

Today I went out photographing for the first time since my Brother passed. It was overcast all afternoon, but shortly after Sunset the sky lit up like crazy. Not long before this, I was telling him how much I missed him and how I wished he could be here. Well, safe to say I bawled like crazy thinking he was behind this one… thanks for giving me a little peace Bailey ❤️

I can't believe that you’re gone… Even if we knew it was a real possibility that the Cancer would lead to this, I always held onto hope that this wasn’t happening. How do you begin to accept that a constant in your 30-year-old life is no longer there? Like many siblings, our closeness ebbed and flowed as we got older, but I will forever cherish it all. For most of my life, we did everything together. Up until our early twenties, most people knew us as Bailey & Blake - the twins. I fondly think of so many great times we shared together - Playing catch for hours, staying up all night customizing cars on XBOX, talking about the school year and our favorite parts, eating California burritos or 711 pizza, torturing our sister with our antics, snowball wars in Mammoth, camping trips to Anza, the list is truly endless. I wish we could be spending the next 70 years together. No matter where our paths led or how far we strayed, we had each other’s backs. There were many times this year when I felt lost, and calling you brought me so much peace. I’m so grateful my own unexpected surgeries this year allowed me to see you a few times. I will do my best to keep exploring new places, enjoying every sandwich and hopefully soon, building out another Toyota, the way that would make you proud. I’m so incredibly grateful to call you my twin. I love you, Bailey, until we meet again. ❤️

Meet the Photographer: Blake Johnston. Analog Yosemite, the Conservancy’s 2026 Calendar, features the work of Yosemite-based photographer, Blake Johnston @blakejohnstonfilms. Analog Yosemite is our final highlight from the Conservancy's 2025 Holiday Gift Guide. Learn more at https://shop.yosemite.org/products/analog-yosemite-2026-calendar We asked Blake a few questions about his craft. Please enjoy the Q&A below! Q: How did you get into photography? A: My introduction to photography started with making skateboard films of my friends in high school. After a few years of using a camcorder and securing a few freelance gigs, I bought a DSLR Camera that could also take still photographs. Q: What does it mean to make an Analog Photograph? A: An Analog Photograph typically refers to creating an image on film using a film camera. The light from the scene is captured directly onto the tangible film before it goes through a chemical process to develop the image. A really neat part is that each piece of film was physically present where the image was made. Q: In this highly digital age, why do you create analog photographs? A: I very much enjoy the tangibility and experience of using film. When using my 4x5 View Camera, I can change the film type for each scene, giving me a bit more creative control over the final result. Some film stocks produce more saturated colors, whereas others offer a smoother palette — both can help complement the scene and help give me the final result I’m looking for. Q: What are some of your favorite places to take photos in the park? A: That’s a great question! Some of my favorite places to photograph in Yosemite are along the Merced River & in the High Country. I love the tranquility of being along the Merced and the ruggedness of Yosemite’s High Country. All photos are courtesy of Blake Johnston. Photos feature Yosemite landscapes in all seasons and all elevations from the cliffs of Yosemite Valley to the reflective surface of alpine lakes.
