My turn to share the hot dad walk! ☺️ I’ve heard this one a lot: you truly realize if he’s the one during labor. No doubt in my man. I feel so blessed to have two boys in my life now. And how crazy is it to experience new layers of love you’ve never felt before! We’re back home, settling in, and enjoying all the firsts. Love you all! ♥️ Love my boys above all!

I can’t believe it has already been a month with our baby boy. I read a phrase here that Javad loved too: “The days are long, but the weeks are short.” So true. Today is our first little anniversary, and we feel so blessed and grateful. Baby Can was born on September 25th at 11:01, weighing 3.670 kg. He entered the world without a single tear, eyes wide open, and I kept asking my doctor, “Why isn’t he crying?” She finally replied, “Arzu, we welcomed a happy baby, not a crying one.” I’ll take that. ???? Ulu Tanrı bütün uşaqları qorusun!

And his father named him Can, which in the tongue of Azerbaijan meaneth Soul: a tribute to the homeland. In the tongue of Luxembourg was he called Jean, in honor of the land that took him in and became his home. Thus were two realms joined in one name: two cultures, one soul.

And if you’d ever asked me, “Arzu, how do you imagine your pregnancy shoot?” I would have shown you these pictures. Thank you, @lesyaaa.ph for the incredible capture of our precious journey.

Another vuelta al sol with my favorite person, and this time growing a baby bump next to the ocean. I’m calm, grateful, expecting, and feeling all the things that define a woman when she is at peace with herself, her surroundings, and her people. Thank you for the everyday wishes, I read them from time to time to boost my energy and faith, and I hope everyone is as happy as they wish me, a stranger on the internet, to be. Love! ♥️

Writing a children’s book has been my dream forever ✨ Every time I traveled, I saw incredible books for kids, and at the same time, I was so sad knowing how little of that existed for Azerbaijani children. In Baku, anything remotely creative was either in Russian or came with a fat price tag. Don’t even get me started on diaspora kids - we had and have mostly nothing. For this very book the idea sat quietly in a far corner of my brain for three years. My sister Gulustan was visiting me, and somehow we started talking about children’s books. And then, in the simplest way she said: “I will support your idea.” That one sentence speaks volumes about the kind of person Gulustan is. She has this quiet strength about her that doesn’t need big words, grand gestures, or Instagram profiles. She supports, she shows up, and she makes things happen. If you know Gulustan, you know this is who she is. And just like that, we started. It’s been... what like 5 months of sketching, writing, editing, and now we are so close to the finish line. I gathered an incredible team of women around me: the insanely talented Nargiz, @nargizalee who has been working around the clock to finalize every tiny detail of the illustrations; and my dear friend Nika, @nikajabi who has been my rock, making sure I sound exactly the way I imagined. This is a collaboration of love. A collaboration of sisterhood. A collaboration made for children, for families, for our culture both in Azerbaijan and far beyond its borders. And I simply cannot wait to share more with you ♥️ - ???????????????????????? in comments

It’s a boy! But let me tell you something, let me tell you something! (c) Lately, I’ve been all about fruit. So when I heard the cake had raspberry filling option, I immediately said, “Yes!”… if (!) it’s a girl. That little detail got lost somewhere, so we ended up with a blue cream cake and raspberry filling. Honestly? It was so good, we didn’t mind it. And yes, we did confirm it’s a boy with our doc! At the beginning of the video, you can see my in-laws and my little sister joining us over the phone. I’ve been meaning to write about this life for a long time, and I’ll take my chance now. When you live abroad for so long, things shift in unexpected ways. I’m becoming a mother, and yet I never imagined my biggest moments would happen without my people beside me. Still, it’s the connection we all work to save that matters. It’s not easy to grow, to change, to bring new souls into this world while knowing your favorite people are doing the same, miles and miles away. When I first moved, I felt like their lives had paused somewhere, waiting for me to come back and witness it all. But that wasn’t true. I missed my sister’s first and second births. She missed my wedding. My parents missed my graduation. And yet, we’re still so close. Even from a distance, my sisters make sure I have everything I need whether it’s advice or gifts for the baby. I’m wrapped in their love and so is our little one. I’ve always made sure to be the auntie: the first clothes, the first books, always from me. And now, feels so good that it’s my turn! Our kids are lucky to have three mothers instead of one. Thank you so much for all your kind words. Your guesses filled my inbox, some even thought it was twins! Haha, that’s still my wildest dream. I’m so excited to share this journey with you, simply because you give me so much love. It makes me smile through tears, feeling seen, loved, and truly cared for. Çox sağ olun ❤️
