I had the immense honor of attending the State of the Union as @joaquincastrotx guest due to the advocacy from myself and 2 physician colleagues have been leading (which would not have been possible without @lidiaterrazasnews @askladoctora @dr.ashmarie @eachstephome @jesscraven101 ) I have so much incredible content to share from some heart to hearts about what is happening to children in detention. But today - let’s talk about Aliya Rahman and witnessing (and trying to stop) her inhumane removal from the state of the union. She was an honored guest of @repilhan for her advocacy following a brutal attack by ICE. She stood up silently, did not make a noise, and was descending upon as if she was a criminal while she wore an n95 mask and used a cane. This — while the entire republican caucus cat called like they were at a frat party. We need more people like @joaquincastrotx and so many others who are leading the charge against ???? Hair and MUA - @francisca.rogel - literally the only person I would trust on this caliber of day ❤️

Reports of cruelty and physical and emotional abuse continue to emerge out of ???? detention camps around the country. ???????? Share this video and call your reps Follow @lidiaterrazasnews and @anitakpatelmd for more information on what’s happening and how we can help these kids. Call your representatives in the House and Senate at 202-224-3121 and tell them: Hi, my name is ______ and I’m a constituent from [zip.] I am deeply worried about the human rights abuses happening at Dilley Immigration Processing Center, and in particular about the newborn baby girl born February 21. Both the measles and RSV have been confirmed at Dilley. It is not a safe place for any child, let alone an infant. We know that they lied about the health condition of the two-month-old baby, Juan Nicholas, who was diagnosed with RSV after deportation to the US/Mexico border. The mom and infant who gave birth today must be freed into the U.S. immediately. The American Academy of Pediatrics has called for the shuttering of ICE detention centers for children, and you should too. Thanks.

ICE deported Juana 36 weeks into her pregnancy over the weekend. She had been at Dilley trailer prison for three months with her two young children. She was fearful of giving birth while imprisoned. When ICE first attempted to deport her, doctors and airlines REFUSED to clear her for travel because she was too close to her due date. But ICE shopped around for a doctor and airline that would be complicit in this cruelty. Juana said that the stress is so bad that her hair is falling out—that she can’t take it anymore. I am gravely concerned that ICE is failing to meet the most basic medical needs of expecting mothers like Juana while imprisoned. Treating pregnant women and their unborn children with such cruelty is unconscionable. I will continue to inspect Dilley and uncover how ICE is treating pregnant women—who they hid from me during my last oversight inspection—to ensure their safety and wellbeing. We must #ShutDownDilley and #FreeOurChildren.

???? SOS ???? A woman at the shmilley gave birth. We do not know her condition or the condition of her newborn. What we do know is that she and her baby may be sent right back to shmilley , an unsafe place for any child, especially a newborn, or possibly deported. There is also a real risk they could be separated. We need to make noise now to protect them and every child at shmilley. Say it with me: KIDS DO NOT BELONG IN CAGES. Resource document in bio!!! Open letter to sign. Last chance before it closes at 5 PM tonight.2/23 @ 5pmEST LIKE.SAVE.SHARE. We need all eyes and voices on this!
